It’s the weekend we’ve all been waiting for — The Last Jedi has hit theaters, and now that I’ve seen it, I just want to see it again… soon! Two and a half hours full of lightsabers, X-wings, rebels, suspense, heart, and porgs.
So, naturally, Star Wars has been on my mind all weekend. With Christmas right around the corner, it’s only fitting to make Star Wars gingerbread men (& droids & porgs). And since I don’t have any Star Wars cookie cutters, I decided to make my own!
Below you’ll find details on my Star Wars cookie stencils and a link to download your own set.
How to Make Star Wars Gingerbread Cookies
My cookie of choice was gingerbread, and after I prepared my mom’s tasty recipe to chill overnight, I cut out my Star Wars cookie stencils.
Yoda, Darth Vader, Princess Leia, R2-D2, and more. While your dough chills, download, print, and cut out your Star Wars cookie stencils. For characters like Boba Fett which have thin parts to his helmet, just cut along the border. Later when decorating, you can draw the details and shape of the character with icing.
After your dough has chilled, roll out to your desired thickness, and lay one of your paper stencils on the dough. Using a butter knife, gently cut along the outline of the character.
Bake your cookies, and after they cool, you’re ready to start the frosting. I found some easy pre-made frosting in the holiday aisle at Walmart. All I had to do was microwave the bottle to get my desired frosting consistency and voila! Frosting ready.
Now it’s time for your cookie masterpieces to be created. You can do as much detail as you’d like, but I stuck to the basics and simply added outlines and shapes to bring the characters to life.
Hello my little BB-8s!
Of course, I had to create a gingerbread PORG! (Note- this was a last minute addition so this shape is not included in the download, but it is totally easy to cut this one out on your own!)
After a little icing magic, your Star Wars gingerbread cookies are ready to impress your holiday guests and stand out on any cookie platter.

Thanks! Next time maybe I’ll add K-2SO and BB-9E.
Definitely saving this – don’t know if I’ll have time this year but I’ll put it on the list for next year! I made your Death Star pie this past weekend and it was a big hit 🙂

This was the first time I made my mom’s recipe! And although it’s never the same as when your mom bakes you cookies, they were pretty good!
These are adorable! I love the Porg and Yoda ones!
