It’s November 1st! And that means a few things… we all have candy hangovers, our costume Pinterest boards will be put to rest for another year, and Christmas is less than two months away! (Okay, I know some people have strong opinions about not celebrating Christmas until after Thanksgiving, but I’ve already watched a Christmas movie…)

But back to my Halloween recap, this year my family put together casual Star Wars costumes – Rey, Kylo Ren, and Chewbacca.

Confession #1: I’ve always wanted to dress up as Rey. She’s one of my favorite Star Wars characters, so this year when we were brainstorming casual Halloween costumes, she came to the top of my mind for a few reasons. First, Star Wars is a costume theme that my whole family was ready to get behind. Anzu has had his Chewie costume on standby since he was a pup and my husband has long Kylo-esque hair at the moment, so I knew this was the time to act! Reylo + Chewie = one happy family!

Confession #2: I’ve had my eye on the lovely Rey sweater from Musterbrand! And since it was going to double as a fall sweater AND my Halloween costume, well, I justified the purchase and finally ordered it. And I’m so glad I did.

Confession #3: Since I was secretly plotting this Reylo theme for awhile, I purchased AJ the Kylo Ren sweater by Musterbrand for his birthday. Solid gift, I must say.

And there you have it! The force is strong with my family.

While Halloween is over, it doesn’t mean that we can’t find casual style options inspired by our favorite characters and fandoms all year long.

These Musterbrand sweaters are the perfect option.

I wore my new Rey sweater to my office and received numerous compliments on the style — from both Star Wars fans AND those who had no idea who Rey even was. I love the loose, casual wrap style of the piece. It’s cozy and comfortable, and the Resistance logo on the sleeve is the perfect nod to all Star Wars fans that, yes, this sweater does look like Rey’s. 🙂 And bonus — Rey’s sweater comes in beige, for those who are a fan of the light side, and it also comes in black, for those who feel the pull to the dark side.

Thanks girl! I love that the sweater is subtly geek and not in your face. HAHA and yes, I’m thankful my pup participated – I wasn’t so sure he would be into his costume! LOL
