Countdown to Avengers: Endgame with a Marvel Movie Marathon

The end of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we know it is drawing near, and with the release of the first trailer for Avengers: Endgame — check out my reaction to the new trailer here — it’s time to start preparing. (To say that I am *barely* holding back tears would be an understatement.)

Whether you’re new to the MCU or you’ve seen the films once, twice, or hundreds of times, there’s something so amazing about watching all of the Marvel movies in order. The universe feels so big, yet so connected. Throughout 21 movies, our favorite characters go through so much — and everything is leading up to April 26, 2019 with the release of Avengers 4, aka Avengers: Endgame.

How to Do a Marvel Movie Marathon

Last year, I led a Countdown to Avengers: Infinity War movie marathon with my followers and friends, and it was SO MUCH FUN! I love all things Marvel, and had a blast creating Marvel-inspired recipes, DIYs, and more to go along with the Marvel movie marathon schedule — find links to some of my favorite activities below!

In 2019, I’m doing it all over again! Yes, my hubby thinks I’m a little crazy — there are 21 movies to watch before Endgame in April, after all — but with a little Marvel-ous determination, I know we can make it through.

Beginning in January, I’m going to tackle the 21 films of the MCU, watching them in order of their theatrical release date. Below you’ll find a Marvel Movie Marathon schedule, broken down by month — yes, it’s intense, but it will be so worthwhile. πŸ™‚ Watch them at your leisure, but stick to this monthly schedule to ensure you watch all of the Marvel movies before Avengers: Endgame.

(During last year’s marathon, I watched the movies in chronological order according to the timeline, however, this year, I am choosing to watch them in the order in which they were released theatrically. While the two orders are similar, I believe that the theatrical release date is the best order to watch them.)

Ah the trailer makes me cry every time I watch it. I’m definitely not ready – yet simultaneously more ready than I ever could be. I just hate that this chapter is about to end! Now I want to join you for this marathon. I’ve done it a few times before, but since the newer additions over the past year, I haven’t watched everything in a row. I gotta do that!

Girl, I am right there with you. If I think about it too much I become an emotional mess! I don’t want to lose any of my favorite characters, but at the same time I’m mentally preparing for the worse! We marathoned all of the movies last year in preparation for Infinity War and it was so worth it. There were so many details that I noticed while watching them all together, I definitely recommend it! Plus, they’re a great way to spend some winter weekends indoors. πŸ™‚

I haven’t seen all of the movies yet, but my son and I are hoping to catch up during his school break. I’m looking forward to seeing more of your Avenger DIYs!

I’m not the biggest Avengers fan, but my husband is! I will have to show him this so he can marathon it over the break.

I got goosebumps just reading this post! My partner got me into Marvel when we started dating 5 years ago and now it’s one of my favourite things in the world. He loves Iron Man and I love Captain America so if something bad happens to either of them in End Game I don’t think we will recover! 😭

I LOVE hearing that! So glad he shared his love of Marvel with you!! And I totally agree, I’m so nervous for all of the characters, but I’m trying to mentally prepare myself for the worse!

I will be doing the Marvel Marathon too, although I don’t think Captain Marvel will still be available in April so I’m going to try and watch the lot so I can finish with Captain Marvel at the cinema.
    Iron Man down already…

Wow, that’s an aggressive watching schedule! I’m impressed. And yes, I’m not sure if it will still be in theaters then, so for that one I plan to skip ahead and see it opening weekend! Happy Marvel bingeing!

Good plan, that was my approach with Black Panther on the last marathon before Infinity War released. Enjoy yours too!

How is your marathon going? I think your schedule is a bit more relaxed than mine. Next move is #6: the first Avengers film!
