Stranger Things Waffle Sandwich with Maple Ice Cream

Stranger Things Waffle Sandwich with Maple Ice Cream

Hawkins, Indiana — summer of 1985 — filled with adventures at the Starcourt Mall, the public swimming pool… and the Upside Down? We’ll find out soon enough! Stranger Things season 3 returns tomorrow, July 4, on Netflix!

Whether you’re gearing up to marathon all episodes of Stranger Things season 3 in one sitting, or if you’re planning an evening of D&D — that’s Dungeons and Dragons for you mouth breathers — one thing is for sure, you NEED some themed snacks.

During the summer, no evening is complete without ice cream at our house. Put a Stranger Things twist on that and what do you get? Waffle cone sandwiches with maple ice cream! Yep, I think Eleven would approve. Plus, these are so tasty that Steve might have to start making these at Scoops Ahoy Ice Cream Parlor!

Stranger Things Waffle Cone Sandwich with Maple Ice Cream

What You Need:

  • Frozen mini waffles
  • Maple ice cream

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Bake your mini waffles for five minutes, then remove them from the oven and turn each waffle over. Return the waffles to the oven to bake for another five minutes. Once your waffles are the perfect golden brown, remove them from the oven and let them cool entirely.

Once your waffles are cool — you don’t want them hot to melt your ice cream — remove your ice cream from the freezer. Use a  regular spoon to scoop a small amount of maple ice cream on top of a waffle. Top the sandwich off by adding a second waffle on top of the ice cream and gently pressing the two waffles together. Enjoy your waffle ice cream sandwich or place it in a freezer-safe container to enjoy at a later time.

I have heard nothing but great things about this show, and yet I’m still hesitant to watch it! I’m honestly a huge baby and am worried it’s going to scare me 😂 I also like to wait until shows are finished before I start watching them in case they get cancelled, but I AM really intrigued to see what all the fuss is about!

I’ve yet to watch any of Stranger Things (I spook easily) but my husband LOVES it! I should make these for him because he’d think they’re so fun! And they’re super creative too.

I feel like one of the only people left who isn’t watching Stranger Things, haha! But maple ice cream sounds amazing and you can’t go wrong with putting it on waffles!
