Watch the New Trailer for Disney’s Mulan

No doubt this live-action Mulan will be an epic retelling of another one of our beloved Disney Classics. I only hope we might get a song or two — or even just a re-recording of some of the original songs from the 1998 cartoon as a bonus feature. I LOVED Reflection and I’ll Make a Man Out of You!

So, Mulan is my favorite Disney animated film of all time. While I’m sad to miss out on the musical aspect and some of the characters, I’m excited to see what this will be like as a recreation of the folklore/ballad of the story!

The trailer looks exciting but I have mixed feelings! They’ve said none of the music will be in it (like, sung by the characters – I have a feeling they’ll do instrumental versions). Mulan looks so badass in the trailer but that’s kinda my problem. For me a lot of the charm of the animated one was how awkward and clumsy she is, but was still able to succeed by working hard and being clever. That was way more inspiring than an awkward 10 year old girl than some epic sword fighting. I’m hoping maybe they just showed all the really epic stuff in the trailer and that will still be part of her character, haha.
