Star Wars The Mandalorian Pumpkin Pie

Disney+ (and all of its amazing content) is just two weeks away! On November 12, the new streaming service from Disney will launch with an arsenal of content, including classics from the Disney vault, Marvel, Star Wars, and more.

Along with many of our favorites (I can’t wait to watch Even Stevens again!), Disney+ will also launch with new, exclusive content on the platform. And one of the most anticipated Disney+ original series is Star Wars The Mandalorian.

After the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order, follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian is played by Pedro Pascal, previously seen as Oberyn Martell on Game of Thrones, and I can’t wait to see his skills as the “best in the parsec.”

No surprise that I’m preparing for a couch day on November 12 with the launch of Disney+. First up on my watch list is The Mandalorian, so, obviously, themed snacks are required!

This Mandalorian-inspired pumpkin pie is perfect for the fall season and for your Star Wars watch party.

*That moment when you bring a geeky pie to a party and hope that the non-geeks don’t notice… at least this one is a little more subtle!*

Star Wars The Mandalorian Pumpkin Pie

What You Need:

For the Pumpkin Filling

  • 15 oz. can of pure pumpkin
  • 12 fl oz. can of evaporated milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 c. of sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves

For the Pie Crust and Decorations

  • Pre-made refrigerated pie crust, two rolls
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • Cinnamon
  • Pastry brush
  • Paring knife
  • Mandalorian helmet template — DOWNLOAD
  • 1 piece of card stock paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Pie pan
  • Scissors
  • Parchment paper

First, prepare your pumpkin filling.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Combine the dry ingredients in a small bowl. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and pumpkin together, then mix in the dry ingredients. Lastly, incorporate the evaporated milk and mix to combine.

Pour the filling into a pie dish lined with pie crust. Bake your pie for 15 minutes, then reduce the oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for an additional 40 to 50 minutes. Remove from the oven and while it cools, prepare your Mandalorian decorations.

Download and print several Mandalorian Helmet files (see list above) at 2 inches wide on a piece of card stock paper. Next, cut out the areas in white (these areas will be covered in cinnamon). Set aside. (Note: if you have a Cricut cutting machine, you could also use this to cut the stencil.)

Roll out your remaining refrigerated pie crust on a clean surface. Cut out 2.5 inch squares.

On top of a dough square, place your card stock Mandalorian stencil, then using a pastry brush, brush beaten egg white over the open part of the stencil. Sprinkle cinnamon on top of the brushed egg white. Carefully raise the stencil off of the dough, being careful not to disturb the excess cinnamon on top of the stencil, and set aside. If the edges of your design are not as clean as you’d like, use a paring knife to straighten the edge of the cinnamon. Lastly, use your paring knife to trim any excess dough from around the helmet outline.

Carefully move your finished dough design onto a baking dish lined with parchment paper.

Repeat the process for your remaining dough squares — I baked about 9 — then bake them in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for about 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Once your decorated pie crust pieces are baked and cooled, carefully transfer them to the edges of your pie.

I love this! I have a friend so excited for the Mandalorian. I feel like we need to make this to celebrate! I did your death star pie a few years ago and it was such a big hit.

Well this pie is just fantastic. I’m hosting a Friendsgiving of sorts in November, and this would be such a fun addition for my Star Wars-loving friends (which is like…all my friends haha)!
