It’s time to party! I’m diving in to celebrate the release of SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom Bash, a brand new DVD out today from Paramount Home Entertainment and Nickelodeon Home Entertainment, with a fun treat inspired by SpongeBob and his pineapple under the sea.

About SpongeBob SquarePants: Bikini Bottom Bash

This rockin’ compilation boasts five uproarious party-themed episodes, including SpongeBob’s Big Birthday Blowout.  It’s SpongeBob’s birthday, but it’s a surprise, so SpongeBob and Patrick are going on a tour of the surface world while everyone else plans the birthday blowout below. Then, Bikini Bottom throws a wave of other parties: Catch some rays with SpongeBob and Patrick to get into the biggest bash in town, enjoy a girls’ night in at Pearl’s sleepover, raise the pineapple’s roof at SpongeBob’s house party, and celebrate the Krusty Krab’s momentous eleventy-seventh anniversary! Let’s par-tay! The mixed live-action and animation special features the celebrated voice cast behind SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Squidward and Plankton playing human versions of their animated characters and guest star David Hasselhoff (Baywatch). Additional guest stars in the special include Kel Mitchell (All That), Jack Griffo (The Thundermans) and Daniella Perkins (Knight Squad).

SpongeBob SquarePants Cupcakes with Printable Cupcake Wrappers

And since you should never go to a party empty handed, get ready for the Bikini Bottom Bash with some fun Spongebob SquarePants-inspired cupcakes! Print out some free cupcake wrappers inspired by SpongeBob’s outfit or a Bikini Bottom design, and ice your cupcakes to look like SpongeBob’s pineapple under the sea or SpongeBob himself!

Prepare and bake your favorite flavor of cupcakes and set them aside to cool.

Prepare your buttercream icing by combining the butter, milk, and vanilla in a mixing bowl, mixing until smooth. Add the powdered sugar a few cups at a time until it is incorporated.

Color ½ of the icing yellow, ¼ of the icing green, and leave ¼ of the icing white. Fill the icing bags with yellow and green icing, respectively.

On a 3×3 in. square of parchment paper, add a small cone-shaped pillar of yellow icing to serve as the foundation of the pineapple (approx. 1.5 in. tall). Next, use the curved ribbon tip to add the yellow textured icing pieces around the sides to achieve the look of a pineapple. At the top, add green icing pieces using the curved ribbon tip for the leaves. Place the pineapples on a baking sheet and store in the freezer for 20 minutes or until firm.

Ice the cupcakes with the remaining white icing and top them with crushed graham cracker pieces to resemble sand. Add a small circle of icing to the center of the cupcake, then place a pineapple on top of it, helping to secure it.

Print, cut, and tape a themed cupcake wrapper for an added touch.
