Have you heard? Disney’s live-action Mulan will arrive on Disney+ on September 4!
While we won’t get to appreciate Mulan on the big theater screen (at this time), I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to watch a NEW Disney movie from our home. Then again, we did just purchase a big backyard movie screen, so I suppose I’m getting a little closer to a wannabe theater experience!
How to Watch Mulan
While Mulan might be skipping the theatrical release, we should consider its debut to Disney+ on September 4 to be its “now showing in theaters” period.
In order to watch Mulan on September 4, you must have a Disney+ subscription. Additionally, you must purchase “premier access” for $29.99 to be able to stream Mulan before it’s available to all Disney+ subscribers (the date at which it will be available to all subscribers is currently unknown). It’s important to note, however, that unlike a movie rental that you might purchase in advance of a Blu-ray release that lasts for 48 hours, after purchasing premier access for Mulan, you will be able to stream and download the movie for as long as you have a Disney+ membership.
While you’ll have to make your own popcorn, movie quality should not be a concern, as Mulan will be available in UHD, HDR, and Dolby Audio. I’ll even venture to say that your couch may likely be more comfortable than the hard theater seating, too!
For more information on Mulan and premier access, visit the Disney+ website.
