This post and giveaway are in partnership with Tor Books. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you’re anything like me, fall at your house looks a little something like this… cozy blankets, a warm drink, and good books (plural!) to get lost in. This season is sure to introduce some page turners, including V.E. Schwab’s newest installment in the Villains series, Vengeful, which hits shelves on September 25th!

About the Villains Series

All great rivalries have a story behind them, right? There’s Magneto and Professor X, Superman and Lex Luthor, and now… there’s Victor Vale and Eli Ever. Read on for the synopsis of both Vicious and Vengeful — but if you have not read the first book, don’t you dare read the synopsis for the second! Just trust me on this one and pick up a copy of both books in your local book store or on Amazon (click here for Vicious and Vengeful) — and get reading ASAP!

About Vicious

First released in 2013 and repackaged in 2018.

Victor and Eli started out as college roommates—brilliant, arrogant, lonely boys who recognized the same sharpness and ambition in each other. In their senior year, a shared research interest in adrenaline, near-death experiences, and seemingly supernatural events reveals an intriguing possibility: that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. But when their thesis moves from the academic to the experimental, things go horribly wrong.

Ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison, determined to catch up to his old friend (now foe), aided by a young girl whose reserved nature obscures a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eradicate every other super-powered person that he can find—aside from his sidekick, an enigmatic woman with an unbreakable will. Armed with terrible power on both sides, driven by the memory of betrayal and loss, the archnemeses have set a course for revenge—but who will be left alive at the end?

About Vengeful

For sale on September 25, 2018.

Magneto and Professor X. Superman and Lex Luthor. Victor Vale and Eli Ever. Sydney and Serena Clarke. Great partnerships, now soured on the vine.

But Marcella Riggins needs no one. Flush from her brush with death, she’s finally gained the control she’s always sought—and will use her new-found power to bring the city of Merit to its knees. She’ll do whatever it takes, collecting her own sidekicks, and leveraging the two most infamous EOs, Victor Vale and Eli Ever, against each other once more.

With Marcella’s rise, new enmities create opportunity–and the stage of Merit City will once again be set for a final, terrible reckoning.

I’ve read “Vicious” and it absolutely blew my mind. Is “Vengeful” the continuation of the same story or there is a new cast altogether. Sorry, couldn’t guess from the post 🙁 . The giveaway looks luscious. Too bad I’m from the other part of globe.

I’m reading Vicious right now and can’t put it down! Vengeful is the second book of the series and Victor and Eli return in it as a continuation! I haven’t gotten to read the second one yet to give full details – but the synopsis is at the bottom of the post if you want more info!

You have such a cosy reading set up! I think I need to alter my surroundings like this when I read to really help me get into the book I’m reading. A nice hot drink can’t hurt, either!

It definitely helps me! I usually have a million things flying around in my head, so if I can just find a cozy nook to escape to, it helps me get into the pages.
