Baby Yoda Chicken Nuggets Recipe (aka Chicky Nuggies!)

May the Fourth is one week away! So of course my brain is in full-on Star Wars mode.

And while I have a ton of ideas for Star Wars Day, my motivation to work on projects has been severely lacking lately.

But I am determined to use the force and bring some new Star Wars content into the galaxy, after all, Star Wars Day is also my blog’s anniversary!

Coincidence? I think not. 🙂

Baby Yoda Chicky Nuggies – The Meme That Started It All

It’s no secret that I love making Baby Yoda into food… he just makes everything that much cuter, can you blame me?

First it was Baby Yoda deviled eggs (with avocado) and then it was Baby Yoda spinach and artichoke bites. Yum.

Now, I’m turning to one of my favorite Adam Driver memes featuring cute little Grogu and his love for chicken nuggets, aka chicky nuggies.

Go ahead and read the conversation in your most angry Kylo Ren voice and cutest Baby Yoda voice…. I know it’s not just me who does this…

Baby Yoda gets what Baby Yoda wants! And today that’s chicken nuggets!

I was totally inspired to try this after I saw a recipe for homemade dinosaur nuggets on Pinterest last year. (Sadly, I can no longer find this post, but don’t dino nuggets bring back so many memories? They just taste better somehow.)

If homemade dinosaur nuggets could be a thing, I KNEW I had to find a way to bring Baby Yoda chicken nuggets to fruition.

Homemade Baby Yoda Chicken Nuggets

Ingredients and Supplies

  • Baby Yoda silicone mold
  • 1 lb. ground chicken
  • 1 1/3 c. Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp. parsley
  • 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 c. flour
  • Cooking spray

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, 1/3 c. Panko breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Spray the Baby Yoda silicone mold with cooking spray, then fill each mold with the chicken mixture.

Place the filled mold in the freezer for 30-60 minutes to chill and slightly freeze. (This will allow the shape to harden and make it much easier to remove the chicken from the mold while retaining the Baby Yoda head shape.

While the chicken nuggets are in the freezer, place the remaining Panko breadcrumbs, the beaten eggs, and the flour in three separate bowls.

Pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees F.

Remove the chicken nuggets from the freezer and remove the pieces from the mold. For each nugget, dip it in flour, then egg, then cover it in Panko breadcrumbs.

Once all of the chicken nuggets are prepared, place them on a baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes (or until internal temperature has safely reached 165 degrees F).

Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
